Nurlon Rekunen is the half-elven proprietor of the Dancing Bear, a Dulwich inn popular with adventurers and off-duty guards. A bearded former adventurer, he has owned the establishment for more than a century and accumulated considerable knowledge of the surrounding countryside and its stories. His twin sister, Nalthra Rekunen, runs the town’s jewellery shop, giving both siblings longstanding connections within the community. Although dependable and welcoming, Nurlon sometimes grows melancholy when drinking, reflecting on the human relatives he has outlived. Much of the inn’s daily business is entrusted to his experienced manager, Liekko Unaja.
