Saini Alanen is a human wizard and one of Dulwich’s most knowledgeable scholars, recognizable by her distinctive red velvet robes. She lives in a three-story tower whose ground floor houses a small public library, dividing her time between her own studies and assisting visitors with their inquiries. Exceptionally intelligent, Saini takes a particular interest in the history and surrounding countryside of Dulwich, including its older settlements and forgotten ruins. She also undertakes private research commissions for 5 gp per day, making her expertise available to those seeking answers beyond the contents of a casually consulted book.

Eero Kallio is a human mercenary in Dulwich who previously guarded lumber caravans and now seeks steadier employment. Dependable with a spear and shield, he is accustomed to long journeys, exposed campsites, and keeping watch while others sleep. He approaches his work with quiet practicality, checking equipment carefully and preferring clear arrangements over ambitious promises. Fair treatment earns his loyalty, but Eero expects those giving orders to share the dangers they ask others to face.

Marja Pellinen is a human cleric of Conn who serves as a junior attendant at Dulwich’s Lawgiver’s Hall. Calm and compassionate, she takes a practical approach to her faith, helping those in need and encouraging cooperation within the community. Marja hopes to gain experience beyond the temple by accompanying travelers and offering spiritual support on their journeys. Though willing to face hardship, she firmly believes that caring for wounded companions must take precedence over collecting valuables or pursuing personal glory.

Nurlon Rekunen is the half-elven proprietor of the Dancing Bear, a Dulwich inn popular with adventurers and off-duty guards. A bearded former adventurer, he has owned the establishment for more than a century and accumulated considerable knowledge of the surrounding countryside and its stories. His twin sister, Nalthra Rekunen, runs the town’s jewellery shop, giving both siblings longstanding connections within the community. Although dependable and welcoming, Nurlon sometimes grows melancholy when drinking, reflecting on the human relatives he has outlived. Much of the inn’s daily business is entrusted to his experienced manager, Liekko Unaja.

Tobin Reedfoot is a halfling scout in Dulwich who previously traveled with merchant caravans and now takes work accompanying expeditions into the surrounding countryside. Cheerful and patient, he has sharp eyes and a habit of quietly studying unfamiliar ground before committing himself to a route. He favors careful exploration, concealed observation, and a sensible retreat when circumstances warrant one. Although Tobin enjoys a joke and makes pleasant company around a campfire, he takes his safety seriously and has little patience for anyone who treats his small stature as a reason to send him into danger first.
